A week or so back we started testing our marketing system, which is designed to generate leads – the goal, in our opinion of any marketing system.
Previously, we used to wait for our marketing system to flag errors only after leads stopped coming in—hoping the automated campaigns ran smoothly. Like many businesses, the “set it and forget it” approach was the norm.
More like send it and pray.
But after deciding to test our most critical system proactively—our marketing automation—we uncovered gaps in our lead nurturing sequences and data integrations. I would love to say that after fixing these issues, we experienced a much smoother lead funnel with fewer lost opportunities and more accurate tracking – but this is not the case.
We have more work to do.
This week, I encourage you to pick your most important system—whether CRM workflows in Sales or invoice processing in Finance—and run thorough tests. A small shift in mindset from reactive to proactive maintenance can make a significant impact on your business performance.
What system will you test this week? I’d love to hear your experiences or tips for maintaining robust business systems.
